Here are a few of our achievements and activities from the last couple of years:

  • Continued affiliation with the Bat Conservation Trust, the national charity solely dedicated to bats
  • Provision of evening bat walks for group members and the wider community
  • 20 Schwegler bat boxes put up at two Essex Wildlife Trust sites
  • Circulation of an informative newsletter for members
  • Involvement of members as bat ambulance drivers to collect orphaned and injured bats for treatment
  • Continued liaison with Natural England to provide expert advice to householders, wood treatment companies, architects, builders, church authorities and planning officers
  • Training and participation in car surveys of bats across the county
